Mid Sussex YMCA Parent and Child Special Needs Project

A meeting place which delivers quality play and activity provision for children with special needs, aged 13+ with special needs and their siblings, together with support to the parents and carers.

Due to the severity of the needs of these young people, it is not easy for them to access mainstream play and activity provision in the community.

The project also encourages parents and carers to develop a self support network and helps them to find sources of support and advice. We run a session a month at the Beacon Centre, Hassocks and are currently exploring different ways of expanding the service. We presently have by 104 families and over 200 children registered on the project.
